General Thoughts on Group Art Therapy
First, as with any type of Art Therapy, you do NOT need to be an artist to participate, gain insight, and have therapeutic breakthroughs! You only need to be open to trying.
Next, group Art Therapy is different from an individual Art Therapy experience, but arguably more potent at times. The added elements of sharing space with others, catching contagious creative energy (especially when feeling individually "stuck"), gaining insight through other gourd members' reflections, etc. are all ways an Art Therapy group can be especially beneficial. And, during these more collectively isolated times, the sense of connection and community in a group cannot be undervalued. Not to mention, the cost is more affordable than traditional one-on-one therapy, which is also a worthwhile consideration .

Additionally, group Art Therapy can be a wonderful adendum to individual therapy, and whatever comes up in group can be discussed in more depth in a one-on-one session.
