Nuts & Bolts

...and Other Resources...
How Much Does it Cost?

I want you to feel comfortable & confident that we can work together and that I can support you with your therapeutic goals before committing to working together. As such, I offer a FREE consultation session for us to get to know each other.  After that, we can begin, or I can provide referrals to other therapists.

My current fees are $225-350 for individuals (50-58 min sessions), $350-450  for couples (50-90 min sessions), and $450+ for families (90+ min sessions). I also reserve spots for sliding scale fees should you need financial assistance, & I encourage space for on-going open, supportive, & shame-free dialogue about finances. In addition, I sometimes run groups (often Art Therapy based) which are $50-100 per session.

Additionally, sometimes it makes sense to see some clients less or more often than once per week, which can affect overall costs. My goal is always to empower all my clients to eventually not need me anymore, while knowing that I am always rooting for them and available (if my roster isn't full!) should some extra support sound helpful again in the future.

Do You Take Insurance?

I do not file with insurance, but I can provide you with a monthly "superbill" statement that includes all of the information you will need to file with your insurance company for reimbursement. However, because all insurance plans vary, you should contact your insurance company directly to inquire further*. If finances are a stretch for you, please ask about available sliding scale spots.

*FYI: According to a 2022 CAMFT article entitled Managed Healthcare: California Law and Your Rights:  "LMFTs are specifically named in California’s “freedom of choice” laws giving patients the right to choose the mental health provider of their choice. LMFTs are granted provider status with most managed care companies including HMOs, PPOs, EAPs, etc. Plans must abide by “freedom of choice” laws unless they are operating under an exception to that law. Such an exception might be: plans written outside of California that are not issued for delivery in California; self insured plans (ERISA plans), or a plan of the Federal Employers Health Benefits Program."
